The Omnijective Method: From Beyond the Singularity (Video#7/10)

The Method

Part – 1

The previous video in this 10-part whiteboard series introduced the notion of Object Orientation, that was predicated as being the inevitable characterization of the human intellect. That’s to say, Object orientation defines the human contract with the external world, the driving force behind all intelligence generation within the human intelligence system. To simulate the human intellect in all its splendor, the proposed method synthesizes an analogous contract between an agent program and its purpose. Broadly speaking, this gets accomplished in parallel, under three headers –

  • Federated Perception Frameworks that concern the systemic notions of logic and experiential sentience – as counterparts to the equivalent perception modalities in the human world,
  • Phenomenalization that generates systemic phenomena corresponding to the object, as a manifold of all systemic understanding associated with the symbolic representation of the object noumena, and
  • Anti-Epoché, the fount of all existential sentience and the belief in – ‘I exist, or I am.’, for the systemic subject agencies or the agent programs.

So drafted Subject-Object contract is purposed to enable the synthetic agents of Object Orientation. However, given the limitations intrinsic to Object Orientation as explained in video number 6, we may not take the path of Object Orientation ourselves for this purpose. This constraint takes away every conceivable tool and technique from the human toolkit, with every known paradigm of programming, scientific inquiry, mathematical modeling, even linguistic expression only providing marginal utility in this regard. The challenge here is to not let any human interpretation or intelligence percolate the synthetic contractual artifacts, in the event of which, the boundaries of the synthetic system are rendered null and the systemic contract void. This defeats the purpose of the entire exercise, with the intelligence generation process falling back onto the underlying human intelligence system. Without an exception, this describes every previous human attempt at Artificial Intelligence, general or not.

So as to retain the integrity of a synthetic intelligence system and its boundaries, newer approaches need be devised outside all known parameters of human knowledge, the theoretical foundations for which form the agenda for the rest of this video. The envisaged insights get organized as Omnijectivism, the philosophical cornerstone for this research. Omnijectivism essentially allows for inclusive contexts that let both Object Orientation and its negation coexist. Within these contexts, a purely deterministic intent associated with Object Orientation could also take the form of an enabler intent required of the method to simulate human intellect. The emphasis here is on shifting the onus of object determination to the agent programs, while the focus of the human programmer is confined to the program enablement.

One of the core conceptions required in appreciating Omnijectivism concerns the notion of systemic fundamental beliefs. Within given systemic Semantic, these are the points where Object Orientation breaks down. To be more specific, these points denote a takeover of the corresponding subject’s intellect by an unconditional compliance. Unlike any other beliefs within the human intelligence system, such as, say, religious & scientific beliefs or mathematical axioms, submission to the fundamental beliefs is not a prerogative of the subject agency. These beliefs are termed Semantic Singularities, that further signify the systemic epistemic boundaries. Conversely, the semantic non-singularities constitute those points of the semantic that are accessible to the subjective intellect. These notions will be revisited in the discussion about Potential Semantic schemata, later in this video series.

Positioned in the intersection of the eastern wisdom that originated in the Indian subcontinent and western epistemology, Omnijectivism essentially holds that –

All existence is mutually relative within, orchestrated as such by a free-willed intent that is a singularity away for it to be intelligible from inside the existence.

It follows that the entire paraphernalia sustaining the notions of intelligence, its generation, and manifestation are contained within the existence, with none taking up a more fundamental pedestal in relation to others. Such a philosophical stand not only contends the absolute disposition of the determiner and the determinable but of the determination itself. It is, in fact, a standalone systemic Semantic feeding interpretation to an overlaying Subject-Object contract, that assumes a more profound standing with respect to these individual components.

Subsequently, conviction in the unequivocality of mind-independent object of the realists, object-agnostic mind of the solipsists, indisputable human logic of the rationalists, and the sensory experience of the empiricists etc., are all brought under the scanner of suspicion. Although implied uber-radical skepticism appears to deprive of all practicability from any possible inquiry, it affords an unprecedented vantage to the melee of existence from beyond the Singularity. Such an outlook allows for an abstraction thereof as an Omniject, – an invaluable perspective of existence through the very eyes of the orchestrating intent.

In addition to facilitating the abstraction, a set of principles – termed the Principles of Omnijectivity – govern the squeeze out of a science or a method from such a philosophical positioning. These essentially concern various compositional aspects of the Omniject, & correlations between several complementing systemic dualities such as the programmer and the program, program and the programmable, programmable and its containing contexts, program and its enabled contexts, and more. These principles formalize a basis for Omniject-Orientation as the generic characterization to the verification and falsification frameworks for any science or technology cascading from Omnijectivism. While the Omniject signifies an external enabler’s view of the Existence, Omniject-Orientation places a method to synthesize an intelligent existence similar to our own in the hands of the prospective creator.

To establish the workings of Omniject-Orientation vis-à-vis Object-Orientation, we revisit the systemic boundary breach scenario as explained before. It was seen how synthetic intelligence systems collapse in the face of any attempt to set them up within known contexts of knowledge acquisition and application. The enhanced human epistemic foundations offered by Omnijectivism allows for resilient artificial intelligence systems with boundaries equipped of Singularity filters. These filters do not let any instance of external intelligence pass through the systemic boundaries, while making way for an external intentionality.

A non-invasive operational pattern emerges capacitated by these Singularity filters, wherein it becomes possible to articulate ‘What’, without needing to specify ‘How’. The synthetic contractual artifacts get drafted leveraging this pattern, that necessitates every subject-object interaction be routed through Singularity medium. Such a schema for any practicability within omnijective contexts offers the means to isolate human intentionality from the intellect, whether manifested as mathematical theorization, scientific inquiry, or programmatic endeavor. It is with such isolated human intentionality that the synthetic subject-object contract gets scripted.

In the context of programming, segmentation of atomic algorithmic constructs, say instructions or rules as micro-algorithms, is a case in point. These bits and pieces that make up systemic cognition are a result of redacting the human interpretation from regular programs. Further, the mathematics from beyond the singularity provides an Omnijective criterion for an autonomous and event-driven choice of the right cognitive building blocks in determining given object. The traction required in sustaining these system internal choices is derived from abstractions of semantic symmetries and states of equilibria that are in turn incidental of an external interpretation.

In the same vein, the method invokes physics from beyond the singularity in case physicality needs be imparted to the synthetic agencies. For instance, the time-space predicates of the material world need be encoded in Omnijective terms from our own intuitions and understanding, say to enable a fully autonomous exploration of uncharted terrains by a synthetic bot. We will take a more detailed look at some of the technically instructive connotations of these revolutionarily disruptive variants of programming, mathematics, and physics in the subsequent parts of this video.

At the most fundamental level, the Omniject-Oriented methodology draws its distinction riding on one of the core postulates of Omnijectivity, termed the Hand of God hypothesis, which holds that –

…the intentionality to enable the subject aspect of an Intelligence System may not be sourced from within the system itself…

This imperative invalidates everything we have been doing or could ever hope to do outside Omnijective realm in modeling the human intellect. Accordingly, the notion of an embedded intelligence system assumes significance for any possible human intentionality to be pertinent. Within the intelligence system of which we are a part of, the exotic character of the enablement of such embedded systems is outlined here. Engaged singularities denote our own epistemic cul-de-sacs where all human inquiry dissipates. The enabler intentionality that traverses past these confines goes on to furnish corresponding synthetic singularities that constitute systemic axioms, the nurseries of system internal Object Orientation.
Essentially, the enablement of the synthetic intelligence systems is entirely powered by human intentionality sans the interpretation.

The complementary association so instituted between the enabler and the enabled, sets the context for synthetic freewill, of course bound by the encompassing human intent.
This forms the basis for endowing a host of desired attributes of the human intellect to the programs that include autonomy, originality, and innate consistency. Effectively, the Hand of God affords a non-invasive blueprint for asserting the intentionality of the creator in shaping up a freewill spurred object discernment by the creation, irrespective of whether the medium of enablement be programming, math, physics, psychology, neuroscience, or any other field of study.
